After being introduced through mutual friends, Lindsey Knight and William O’Shaughnessey IV went on their first date at Tangerine Fusion & Sushi Bar in Savannah.
“We kept it real—it was a Groupon date!” Lindsey says. Three years later, this down-to-earth couple got engaged in Warren Square, with members from both families watching nearby.
“I was never the girl who had dreamed about her wedding so I had absolutely no idea what I wanted,” Lindsey adds. So, she reached out to wedding planner Tara Skinner of Posh Petals & Pearls, and floral expert Amy Harvey of Harvey Designs. With their assistance—and lots of Pinterest browsing—Lindsey decided on a traditional, elegant wedding in a blush-and-gold palette.
The couple wed in front of the grand pipe organ at the First Presbyterian Church, where Amy decorated the aisle with silver vases full of blush and white roses. Later at the reception, held at Savannah Station, Will opted to ditch the traditional groom’s cake in lieu of “flaming donuts” by caterer Magnolia Grill. When the dessert was served, the band appropriately played “Burning Down the House.”
