On Christmas day 2015, Chelsea Elrod opened a gift from her boyfriend Jason Hendrix. Inside was a carved wooden elephant statue, with another present tucked inside—a small jewelry box holding an engagement ring.
When their wedding planning began, Chelsea was thrilled when she saw the multiple garden spaces at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum. An extra visit to the museum’s expansive Scarborough Garden convinced the groom as well, and the couple started preparing for their coastal garden wedding.
Entrusting their day-of planning to close friend and event planner Megan Hodges of MLH Events, Chelsea and Jason chose a neutral color scheme of grays and light blush tones, along with votive candles and oyster shell centerpieces. Chelsea’s grandfather walked her down the aisle, where she and Jason accepted the blessings of family and read their personally written vows.
Don’t stress the small things. Remember this time really is about you and your fiancé. – Chelsea
