College Sweethearts Wed in Intimate Forsyth Ceremony

Photography by Lisa Davis

Rachel Mitchell and Jack Kimber met while students at Erskine College in South Carolina, which they both attended on soccer scholarships. After dating for five years, Jack, originally from Manchester, England, went for the ultimate goal and proposed during a family trip to Disney World.

In lieu of a traditional wedding, the couple chose to have a quiet, personal ceremony in the Fragrant Garden in Forsyth Park, celebrating with family and friends at a later date. The morning started with a bit of rain, so they were able to exchange vows in a near-empty park. The mood added to the dreamy quality of their wedding photos, shot underneath Forsyth’s canopy of trees.

Being completely alone, apart from the officiant and photographer, made for a very special moment—sharing such personal and meaningful words and intending for them to only be heard by one another. – Rachel Mitchell

I chose to wear some shoes I already owned and the only jewelry I wore was my mother’s set of pearls. My hair pieces were purchased from Etsy. – Rachel Mitchell
